Female Chemist

Around the 1980’s a twelve year old girl by the name of Rachel Zimmerman developed something that greatly and successfully helped people who have difficulty communicating. She created a software program using symbols that enable non speaking people such as those with severe physical disabilities like cerebral palsy to communicate. The program that Rachel came up with his known as a Blissymbol Printer. Users can communicate by pointing and touching various symbols on a board that is touch screen. When the user touches the screen the symbols translate into a written language.
I decided to write about Rachel Zimmerman because she not only invented something at the age of twelve but came up with something that could help everyone around the world. The Blissymbol Printer has greatly impacted multiple people and I hope to one day impact people in a way that she has.

Scientist

Thomas Alva Edison comes to mind when I think of science and important scientist. I always think of this man because where ever you go there are lights lighting up the place around you and I cant imagine were we would be today with a light bulb. I admire him because he spent years working on figuring out how to conduct electricity threw the bulb and with patience finally figured it out. Today the light bulb is used around the world every day constantly in use.

2 Goals

Two goals that I would like to incorporate into my everyday school life would be one to turn in all of my homework in on time completed. I do this well but tend to forget an assignment now and then which really affects my grade. The second goal that I want to become an everyday think in my life is studying for quiz’s and tests even if I feel like I know all of the information. I think that I would benefit from this and that these two things would really help me improve in school and everyday life.
